Nicole and I went to Ikea today to shop around a bit. I really just love that store. So many cool, inexpensive things and the decorated rooms are great to look through! And yes, I got some stuff for the dining room but unfortunately none of it is going to work so a return trip is needed. Oh well!

Ack! Declan found this huge snake skin in the backyard today.. and then Brian found a second one. Apparently, we have a nice long black snake living under the kids playhouse. Sweet. Brian is ready for a snake hunt, though.. he has his shovel :)

I ran by the thrift store this morning.. and I scored! I have been looking for some chairs for my dining room re-do, and these are perfect! Some spray paint and new fabric and they are going to look wonderful! And the best part? They were only $6 each! yay!

My sister met me today at the park.. she had her kids + 2 girls that she babysits and I had my kids. 9 kids total and we took them for a 2.5 mile hike- so fun! They all did great and were wiped out by the time we finished. We had a nice picnic lunch and some playtime at the park after our hike. Such a great way to spend the day!

Baby girl wanted beads..so I spent a little bit of time tonight with her doing some twists. Of course, some of the beads were off by bedtime.. but it was cute while it lasted!

Aislin started practicing today with one of her soccer idols (a friend's daughter). This girl is such a talented soccer player.. about to go into her senior year and after that she is heading to UGA to play there. So awesome! Aislin is completely in awe- and it is so great. I love that Aislin has this opportunity to practice some this summer with her.. and that she has her for a role model- smart, talented, sweet, just an amazing person.

We had a great time this afternoon at my friend's pool. It was a spur of the moment plan, but sometimes those are the best! Totally makes me want a pool in our backyard, though. Man, that would be nice.

Aislin decided she wanted to re-paint the playhouse with some leftover paint we had in the basement. At first, I was against the idea but then I decided to just let her do it. Well, she did a great job and repainted the white to a nice yellow and started the trim in black. I cannot stand it! Yikes. I guess we are going to have to get some good outdoor paint and re-do it- I really can't handle looking at it every day.
(Esme helped.. which is why she is in her undies.. she was covered in paint when she was done!)

I stocked up on some swim caps for the summer.. Esme loves her kitty cap :) She really likes wearing them.. which is good for her and for me :) We spent a couple of hours at the pool, had lunch at home and then Esme and Declan watched a movie on the couch. Little mama must have been exhausted..
I can't even remember the last time she fell asleep on the couch! So sweet!

Dining room re-do starts today. Our whole house is a mish mosh of furniture and stuff...nothing matches, nothing is really decorated. I don't like brand new matchy-matchy furniture and rooms, but I want our house to be decorated. So, my friend is helping me.. one room at a time! yay!! Funny that we have lived in this house for 6+ years and I still haven't hung a single picture on any walls in this room (or my scrapbook room, kitchen, playroom.. you get the idea!). Today, I primed the walls:

and this has nothing to do with the re-do.. but the kids and I went hiking again today.. another fun time! Got a cute picture of them while they were all exhausted resting on a step.
