My gorgeous niece, Harper, at her first birthday party. She loved her cake, of course! I cannot believe she is one already- it seems like she was just born.

We had to put our sweet Casey kitty to sleep today. So so sad- she has been with us for 20 years and was such a sweet cat. I thought it would be good for the kids to make her a little marker to go in our garden- so they painted/decorated a large rock we had. We also had a little "funeral" for her (the kids wanted it) when Brian and I got home from the vet.. complete with flowers and brownie cream cheese cupcakes. We took her stone marker out to the garden and thought about Casey for a minute. I think it helped to be able to celebrate her and we tried to make the kids understand what a wonderful life she had but it was now time for her to go.

Library day! Have I mentioned how cool it is that my kids are crazy readers? They get excited to go to the library and they start reading their books before we have even checked them out. Esme is starting to love her books, but her attention span is still about 2 minutes per book! Since I could not get a photo of all three of my readers together, I am just going to post three photos (taken with my phone so they aren't the best quality!).

All Stars! Aislin was chosen by her coach to play in the end of the season All Stars Game... so fun! She did a great job tonight- played so well- we are so proud of her :)

ooooh Crayons! We brought up the tiny table and chairs from the basement (used to belong to Aislin and Declan)... it is the perfect size for Esme. I sat her down with some crayons and paper yesterday and she hasn't moved since. Ok, she has moved- but she *loves* sitting at this table just coloring away...she is already a tiny artist!

Sprinkler time :) Esme would not go near the sprinkler unless Aislin was holding her. It was so cute to watch Aislin carry her sister around- she is so sweet and nurturing to Esme...love it!

New tent! We have been camping with two backpacking tents... too small for our new family of five. We just got a new huge two room tent (on sale at REI + we used a 20% off coupon + our dividend = good deal!). It is so nice and large.. I cannot wait to use it! yippee!

Completely blurry... but completely sweet. Aislin and Declan like to sleep together every once in a while (when they aren't arguing haha). Today was such a busy day...last day of school, then we went to the movies and played over at a friends house. I knew they wouldn't have any problems going to sleep tonight. I just love how they are all snuggled in together!

Too cute! Our first baby bird has hatched.. Aislin found the empty egg on the ground, so I had to sneak up on a chair to take a picture inside the nest.. what a sweet surprise!
