plain and simple

8 months!!!!

Well, we have hit the 8 month mark waiting for our baby girl!  I really never ever thought we would have to wait this long, but it is good.  I'm glad we are home over the holidays and are going to be able to start the new year without me being a crazy freak worrying about travel and all :-)  I still feel like we have tons to do before we travel- finish the baby room, get our travel immunizations, get some paperwork ready (will/power of attorney), etc.  I'm planning on getting some of this done during our break- hopefully it will work out!  The kids are still so excited, I know they are going to be great with the baby!  I am so hoping for a referral in January, but who knows!!  I'll just wish not to see the 9 month mark!

Oh, and I haven't bought a new outfit this month (or for month 7) but I do plan on catching up next month!

I'll just post a picture of our cat, Casey (she is almost 18!!), all lounged up on Aislin's bed in the middle of a princess dress since I have no pictures of the room or an outfit!

Adoption update :-)

Well, we are moving up the list.  In the past two days, there have been 8 referrals, which is great- 5 boys and 3 girls (congrats to all the families!!).  We only moved up one spot, though, I think we are #2 in line for a baby girl (yay!).  Lately, I have been alternating between being fine with the wait, to just being completely whiny and ready (and during these times, I feel sorry for Brian because I am getting on my own nerves- I can only imagine how he feels!).  We are so close now, so I am hoping within the next month or so we will have our referral, but who knows!  I am just going to enjoy the holidays with the family and then go crazy again at the beginning of the year :-)

Christmas

The tree is up, the lights are outside on the house, and last night we made Christmas cards :-)  Ok so we have no presents under the tree yet, but that will be taken care of soon!  We have some visitors coming for the holidays- we are all excited!

Tonight at bedtime, Aislin asked how Brian and I "connected" to make babies.  Like, she knew we connected somehow to make babies, but she wanted to know where and how.  eeks. My friend let us borrow the book Mommy Laid an Egg a while back- we wanted the kids to be able to read it and ask questions (and we answered them to a point).  I guess I need to get the book again- I'm not sure I am ready for this!
