plain and simple:

why oh why..

do these things love our house?? Aislin found this in the sandbox in the backyard-nice (she correctly identified it, did not go near it, and came and told me). I really do not mind spiders, but these just give me the creepies- not only for the obvious black widow reasons, but also because they are fast and fat and they just look ick to me..sorry to say that this mama is dead now. (and yeah, the photo is blurry, but you know that I am not getting *that* close to take a good photo!)

she's the mommy

I swore I would NEVER own a pair of these.. and neither would the kids

but Mimi showed up with them and well, the kids love them! I have to say that i love maryjanes anyway.. and these are pretty cute on me (haha). We had a great time with my mom--- all I heard all weekend was "I'm the mommy" from my mom and "She's the mommy" from Aislin.. apparently, since my mom IS the mommy of me, she gets to override lots of stuff...now I know :-) The kids love their Mimi...

they are pretty cute, huh? they have been missing their daddy this week, but Mimi has definitely taken great care of them (and me!)

the 70's and a bit of the 80's

Brian said something today that made me think of Sanford and Son. Did anyone watch that show when they were younger? I started humming the tune, then Brian and I started naming all of our favorite sitcoms when we were kids. Here are some of my favorites...

The Facts of Life (Brian said he watched this because the blonde-Blair-was hot); One Day at a Time; What's Happening; Three's Company; Gilligan's Island; Diff'rent Strokes; The Addams Family; The Brady Bunch; Green Acres; Growing Pains; I Love Lucy; Who's the Boss; Square Pegs; The Munsters; Laverne and Shirley

I am sure there are a ton more that I used to watch... what are some of your favorites from when you were younger??

a list

in honor of my friend Elizabeth.. a list :-)

1. my sister left today to go to Italy for 18 days! Wish I was with her.. maybe next time!

2. my mom comes to visit in 15 days (Aislin is making me keep a countdown)... I cannot wait until she gets here! We plan on having lots of relax time, just hanging out with the kids.. should be fun!

3. Brian leaves the same day my mom gets here to go to Yosemite to do some climbing with his brother. This is actually his brother's bachelor party (he is getting married in june). I will be a nervous freak the whole time he is gone.. thank goodness for #2 above!

4. Our exterminator, Shane, comes tomorrow. Is it weird that I love it when he comes? No bugs in this house!

5. There is so much baby-stuff going on with all my friends..some pregnant, some having babies this week (yay!!), some going through IVF to get pregnant, some going through the adoption process. Crazy baby times, I love it!

6. two more weeks of school! can't wait for the pool to open!

7. I finally made a nice list of things I need to do. whew. have to get started on that.

8. Aislin has been a sweet angel lately.

9. Declan has not.

10. I have a friend that is totally motivating me to walk & eat a little better. Love her!

little monkeys

Brian has a 9 foot climbing wall in our basement that he works out on to keep his climbing arms in shape. The kids LOVE to climb- and I finally took some pictures of them today while they were working out. I think the kids are going to have to get some climbing shoes soon! Notice Declan barefoot and Aislin in her sparkly shoes...
