Oh, are you wondering when soccer is over, also? Aislin has tryouts this week for the fall season of soccer... THEN we will finally be done for the summer! Oh. wait. I forgot that Brian is playing indoor soccer this summer. It never ends, right? :)

I so tired :) but in a good way. The fam spent the past two days working on making the front beds look better. We moved ugly bushes out, put in a rock border around the beds, new plants and flowers... lots of work. It is nice to have two kids old enough to help in the yard- Aislin and Declan were great helpers! We still have lots of work to do, but we made pretty good progress for the weekend :)

Brian and I were hanging out on the back porch and these three deer just came walking along. Love seeing deer out back- I know I have posted about that before but it is so cool. Too bad the kids were asleep!

Baby showers and birthday parties, ohmy! I helped give a baby shower for my sister-in-law in the morning and then had to rush to a birthday party in the afternoon. My sweet niece, Harper, turned two. She is such a gorgeous girl- looks just like her mom! Esme loves her cousin to death.. sometimes a little too much love- she can be a bit overwhelming at times :) My sister, Laurell, made homemade strawberry shortcake- it was so good! I love parties, but I was wiped out after today.

Last day of school- yay!! I can't believe it is summer... it will be so nice to be on our own schedule and to hear "I'm bored" every hour (ha not really). Esme and I went up to school today for the picnic which ended up inside because of the weather. The kids had fun and they got to *limbo* to the next grades- they had to work for it :) 3rd and 4th grades.. wow. I am going to cry!

Aislin's little apple tree...remember this tree Aislin started from an apple seed? Look at it now! So cool to see this thing grow.. we thought it was going to die a few months ago after it lost all of its leaves but it came back and is growing like crazy. Now that the weather is nice, it lives outside :) Kind of a junky picture, but it was storming at the time. I wonder how long until we can plant it in the yard??

I went to school today for an Author's Tea. Each child in Aislin's class had written and illustrated a book that was bound and had a hard cover. All of the kids presented their book and then the parents and other students were allowed to read the books while having tea and cookies. Aislin was so excited to show off her book about a tornado and a baby tiger. I just love that she gets excited about writing and reading- we all know what a book nerd I am! Unfortunately, Brian missed it because he had to stay home with a sick Declan (he is better now) and a sleeping Esme, but I had fun going alone with no other distractions :) Here is Aislin telling the class about her book (she was so red and embarrassed!):

Her first "official" visit to the dentist. She has been to see him before and has sat in the chair, but this is the first time the dentist worked on her teeth a bit (just brushed them and checked them out, but she loved it). So glad she is such a friendly girl- makes things a lot easier! It also helps that we have the best pediatric dentist- the kids love him!

Finally hung Aislin's little paper flower things! They look so cute on her wall- gives that little corner a nice blot of color. I just strung each line together using invisible thread, and then hung them on the wall with poster strips. easy easy. We also put this cute roll top desk in her room - Brian's parents gave it to us a few weeks ago. She loves having the desk in her room to work on projects and to make messes :)

I may be the best mom ever after today. Really. The other soccer moms on Aislin's team decided to show our girls some support by wearing tank tops with the team name. Bling-y tank tops. Sparkly and rhinestoney. SO not me. But you know what? I wore it and Aislin was so super excited- it was so worth it :) (even though I almost blinded myself when I went in the sun). Oh, and this picture was after Aislin's game in the sweaty heat of the day.. we were both worn out and looking like it!
